Youth Engaged in Service seeking teens who want leadership and service skills

Do you know a teen in West Seattle or beyond who would like to learn about our environment, earn a stipend and get service hours? Seattle Parks and Camp Long are looking for teen age people to become part of a very valuable and useful program, Youth. Engaged in Service or YES!
The 2016 Fall YES program is a jobreadiness and leadership development program that places youth in a broad range of service and training opportunities that will prepare participants for the working world while addressing a community need.
Participants will receive an award and earn Hours for graduation, plus get a $150 stipend.
Set in the Longfellow Creek Watershed in West Seattle the 12 Week program requires 8 hours a week.
Wednesdays from 4 pm to 6 pm workshops, Saturday outdoor work days.
All Teens between 14-19 going to public schools within Seattle are welcome to apply.
All Backgrounds, abilities and identities are welcome.
Skills learned:
- Leadership Skills
- Environmental Stewardship
- Organize and Host Service Projects
- Habitat restoration
