West Seattle rallies by Renton for Dist. 7 Little League title

West Seattle outslugged Renton, 17-15, Wednesday to capture the District 7 age 9-11 Little League baseball championship.
The win at the PacWest complex in SeaTac completed a four-game sweep through the tournament.
The Westsiders now advance to the state tournament, which gets underway Saturday in Salmon Creek.
West Seattle is managed by Mike Fahy, who is assisted by coaches Sean Eley and Brian Sherick.
Players on the Westsiders' roster are Tristan Buehring, Parker Eley, Cady Fahy, Robbie Foisy, Wyatt Glover, Miles Gosztola, Matthew Hazlegrove, Matthew Henning-Dierickx, Joseph Sherick, Will Skibitzke, Blake Taft, Bobby Trigg and Simon Vance.
Majors
PacWest routed Renton, 8-4, in the winner's bracket final of the District 7 Majors age 11-12 tournament Wednesday.
The game was played at the same time as the 9-11 championship on another PacWest complex diamond.
PacWest will play for the championship at 10 a.m. Saturday against Renton, West Seattle or South Highline National and need to be defeated in that game and another if-necessary game at 10 a.m. Sunday to be knocked off.
West Seattle plays South Highline National at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the winner playing Renton in the loser's bracket final at 6 p.m. Friday for the right to meet PacWest.
To the champion will go a berth in the state tournament that opens Saturday, July 15 in Federal Way. At stake there will be a berth into the Western Regional tournament in San Bernardino, Calif. with the regional champion advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.
