Help Keep the Music Going for Kids and Community: March 10, 2012

Tickets are still available for the second annual West Seattle Community Orchestras gala on March 10 at the Highland Park Improvement Club (6:30 pm) for $25 per person by clicking here: http://wscorchestras.org/fundraiser.php.

The gala includes a silent auction and ensemble performances by members of all three of WSCO's orchestras throughout the evening.

Performance highlights at this year’s gala will include: “Boil Them Cabbages” by members of WSCO’s adult beginning strings group, Sha’ari Gerfinkel playing the Native American Flute, a trombone quartet featuring members of WSCO’s symphony on a “Song for Japan,” Gregg Rice violin soloist on Beethoven’s “Romance,” and Aaron Abeyta performing solo clarinet for “Music of the Night” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

All proceeds of the Gala benefit WSCO’s programs for K-12 students including free orchestra membership and weekly coaching. In addition, the Gala helps to make possible WSCO’s yearly Outreach Concert – this year taking place on March 27th at 6:30 pm at Highland Park Elementary School. This concert will feature both the Debut and Intermediate Orchestras, both groups are full orchestras this year featuring strings, woodwinds and brass. A grant from King County’s 4Culture assists WSCO in providing this concert with free admission for the community.

Announcing our second annual Spring Gala fundraiser to benefit our youth programs - providing no-cost membership and coaching to our student members.

Live musical ensembles featuring the talents of orchestra members of all levels will perform throughout the evening, along with a light dinner and silent auction.

Doors open at 6:30pm.

Pre-sale tickets are $20. Space is limited.
