The Building, featuring local artists holding First Annual Opening Nov. 16

A group of artists, craftspeople, and others have joined together at 4316 S.W. Othello Street in what is called The Building and will host their first Annual Opening offering a wide range of art and crafts on display and for sale, Nov. 16 from 4pm to 9pm.

West Seattle is home to many artists but generally speaking they operate independently, coming together only at exhibitions or local art walks. Coming up Nov. 16 you have the unique opportunity to see what has essentially become an artist's colony here.

The Building is a working artist building located at 4316 S.W. Othello Street, consisting of 12 private studios right here in West Seattle. They have decided to open up their doors pre- holiday and have their First Annual Art Opening with the community. Artwork & unique holiday gifts will be for sale and you will have a chance to meet the artists. The work on display and for sale will include encaustics, oil paintings, fiber art, mixed media, photography, hand cut paper, custom guitars, printmaking, and you'll see art demonstrations taking place too.

Local musicians Joe Ross and Timothy Scallon will be playing music throughout the evening.
