Couples
On Feb.1 in the middle of the afternoon on Delridge WY S.W. a couple was beaten and robbed by another couple. The victims had returned to their apartment so the female victim could run upstairs and use the bathroom. During this time the male victim remained standing next to their car which was parked outside of their building. While the male victim was waiting a black male (the male suspect) in his 20’s wearing a red checkered hat, red jersey and dark jeans walked over to the car from a barbershop across the street. The male suspect leaned on the car next to the male victim and began asking him if he sold “dope”. The male victim insisted he did not to the suspect.
While they were talking the female victim came out of the apartment and told the suspect to “get off the car”. The suspect then punched the female victim in the face, knocking her to the ground and then began punching and fighting with the male victim. While they were fighting a black female in her 20’s wearing a Seahawks beanie and Seahawks jersey and carrying a large purse came across the street and began beating on the female victim while she was still on the ground. Once they were done fighting with the victims the suspects grabbed the female victim’s cell phone and ran away. A brief chase was given by the victims but was ended once the male suspect began making threats of shooting the victims.
Calls from the victims were made to the female victim’s cell phone and were met with more threats. Both victims received bruises and scratches from the altercations but both declined medical attention. The suspects remain at large.
Super Bowl assault
On Feb.5 a report for a victim of an assault during a Super Bowl party was finally able to be filed. The victim is a student at Seattle University and was attending a Super Bowl party with friends at a residence on Marine View Dr. S.W. Once the game got started the victim told his friends he wasn’t a Seahawks fan and went into one of the bedrooms at the residence to catch a nap. When the victim woke up he went into the living room and was making a call on his cell phone when a male (the suspect) who is only an acquaintance to the victim came up to him and began yelling at him about cleaning up the bedroom he had just been sleeping in.
The victim attempted to ignore the suspect and get away from the situation when the suspect grabbed him by his collar. Another friend tried to intervene but was too intoxicated to offer any significant assistance. Once the suspect got rid of this helpful friend he began punching the victim in the face.
After about three hits the victim tried to run out of the residence and call 911 but was chased and grabbed again by the suspect. This time the suspect put the victim into a choke hold and began punching him some more. Finally some of the other friends at the party were able to get the suspect off of the victim and drove the victim to an urgent care facility nearby.
The victim’s injuries were severe enough that he was transferred to Harborview Medical Center and had to have his jaw wired shut. As of the filing of this report the suspect has not yet been arrested.
