Even though Arbor Heights won a Seattle Summer Swim League dual meet opener at Gregory Seahurst by a 379-355 score Thursday, the words from winning coach Chris Veraya made one think there were two winners.
"Give a lot of credit to that guy right there, Mike Fosberg," said Veraya of his opposing coach. "They are making amazing gains. I'm a little scared for next year."
Until this year, Gregory Seahurst's team has lost to most SSSL teams by 100 points or more per dual meet, according to Veraya.
This meet was different, close throughout the 72 events.
The score was 99-96 Gregory Seahurst after 16 events.
It was 140-136 Arbor Heights after 40 events.
After 53 events, it was 265-264 Gregory Seahurst and 331-325 Gregory Seahurst after event 66.
