Timothy Dwain Framke

"Softtail Tim"

Tim went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2008. Born on May 21, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Jerald and Barbara Framke. Tim loved his country and served with the U.S. Army for 2 years. Tim worked as a concrete finisher with the Cement Masons Union Local 528. Tim loved to ride his Harley and was a member of CMA, Christian Motorcyclist Association, which ministers to the motorcyclist in need of Christ.

Betty Jean Cook

Aug. 5, 1938 - Feb. 12, 2008

Daughter of John and Betty Keeley. Beloved Mother of David, Steve, Sam Cook and Melissa Bustos. Grandmother of 13 grandchildren. Sister to Grace Renz, Jackie Kruse, Suzanne Hicks and Kathleen Dunbar.

Memorial services were held at the Alaska House located on the corner of 42nd and Alaska SW, Seattle, WA 98116, on the 23rd of February, 2008.

Elaine S. Gourley

Elaine Stewart Gourley passed away peacefully, at the age of 83, on February 14, 2008, at her residence at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington.

Elaine was born on October 2, 1924, in West Seattle to Leona and Fred D. Stewart. Her father was in the dairy business with The Carnation Company, and as a child she lived in Okanogan, Friday Harbor, and North Seattle. Elaine graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1942. After graduating high school, Elaine attended Washington State University and then served her country during the latter part of World War II.

Marjorie Elizabeth Gunderson

Our beautiful mother, Marjorie Elizabeth Gunderson, 88, nee Brenaman, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at The Right Place, the senior living residence where she had lived and was lovingly cared for these last three years. Until a month before his death in 2001, she had cared for our father in their home. Ralph had lived many years with multiple sclerosis. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the MS Society. That would be a fitting tribute for them both.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son years ago named Kenneth.

Claudia Rae

Thurman-Hostetler-Hinton

Died on Feb. 18, 2008 at the age of 65. She was a unique and captivating woman who lived life her own way and left an unforgettable impression on everyone she knew. She was many things but more than anything a mother , a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Her family was absolutely the most important thing in her life. She was the envy of all of her peers, because she was always surrounded by her kids and their kids. Which was exactly how she always envisioned her life.

Kenneth M. Prestrud

August 8, 1922- February 13, 2008

Ken was a mountaineer, who began skiing and climbing as a boy. Throughout his life, Ken took pleasure in ascending and descending hills, mountains and declivities, and in sharing these delights with others. He began skiing at Snoqualmie summit in 1928 on 6' 6" long skis. Ken was active in the Mountaineers, and received their Service Award in 1994 for his contributions as Stevens Pass ski hut chairman, member of the History Committee, and service on the Board of Trustees.

Dollie Nickinovich Sjkonsberg

Dollie was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Juneau, Alaska to Vaso and Masha Nickinovich, recent immigrants of Serbia-Montenegro. She was proud of her heritage & spoke her native tongue.

Family moved to Seattle & she graduated from Franklin HS. She was an athlete, loved to ski, play tennis, swim & was a life guard at Seward Park. She worked in many different jobs in many Seattle businesses. She was a born leader, was president of the Slavic Women's Club & of Residents Council @ Westwood Heights. She had a quick wit, sharp tongue & was very generous.

Ray Pace

A long time apartment dweller in Ballard, Ray passed away February 5th in a Seattle hospital at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, his father and a brother. Ray leaves behind many family members, friends and co-workers. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Harry Slye

Harry Slye, age 88 passed away peacefully Monday February 18, 2008 in Tacoma.

Harry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Genevieve; sons, Michael (Patricia), David (Karen), Harry (Teresa), Richard (Nancy) and Mark (Debra) Slye; 15 grandchildren, Debbie, Shari, Carrie, Michael, Shana, Eric, Heather, Joshua, Jonathan, Lauren, Matthew, Nicole, Justin, Jennifer, Chelsey; great-grandchildren, Meggan, Teresa, Sebastian, Finley, Smith, Savanna, Audriana, Sabrina, Giovanni, Spencer, Sierra, Kristy, Gyn, Tristan, Tyler, Savannah and Rachel; sister, Helen Bunch.

Police looking for suspects in Military Road shootings

On February 24, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Federal Way officers were dispatched to the area of 288th and Military Rd South on a report of shots fired.

A passerby reported four to five gunshots and several juveniles running from the area in multiple directions.

When officers arrived two juvenile males were discovered with gunshot wounds, both victims are 16 years old.

They were both in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
