Police Blotter: Unhappy holiday

Operators at 911 received a report that in Arbor Heights a 41-year-old man was assaulting his 16-year-old son and that both were bleeding. Dad was apparently upset that the liquor store was closed when the pair (and the teen's girlfriend) took a drive to pick up their holiday meal. He was so upset that after sending the young couple into the store, he drove off--leaving them without a ride. When the pair finally arrived home and son confronted dad, a physical fight began.

Program keeps TJ turnout low

Thomas Jefferson’s Raiders boys swim team should be good, not great, in this coming South Puget Sound League North Division high school swim season.

Wendy Neely’s school she coaches swimming at is known for a high-profile academic learning program. This Raiders coach knows there is an importance to that.

“Their junior year they hit the IB program and a lot opt not to swim,” said Neely.

Divers lead the way at Todd Beamer

Looks like diving is going to be huge for Todd Beamer at state this coming Feb. 14-15, 2009, for the boys swim team there this high school season.

HUGE.

And, get rid of that period and put an exclamation point after that HUGE, too, please.

OK, then, why so good a potential to finish high as a team at state for Todd Beamer because of diving at state?

POINTS!

Todd Beamer should get a lot of points just from the diving portion at the state meet.
