Ian Bailey hit two home runs and Alex Athanacio one as the San Francisco Seals beat the Highline Bears on Friday, 5-3.
Bailey launched a solo home run in the top of the first for a quick 1-0 Seals lead in the action at Mel Olson Stadium at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center, but the Bears struck twice in the bottom of the inning.
One run scored on a bases loaded walk by Matt Stuart and the other on an Alex Sisley RBI fielder's choice.
Chase Hodkinson of the Bears ripped an RBI single in the second for a 3-1 lead.
The lead held until the top of the sixth behind the pitching of Ryan Kolisch, but the Seals broke out the big bats at that time.
Athanacio crunched a three-run home run to make it 4-3 before Bailey blasted another solo shot to put the score at its final 5-3 margin in favor of San Francisco.
Highline now goes on the road to British Columbia to play the Langley Blaze in a 1:05 p.m. double-header Saturday.

By Gwen Davis
The West Seattle Transportation Coalition (WSTC) hosted a community-led workshop Thursday evening, so the public could offer its thoughts about future light rail plans.
“Light rail at its core is part of an integrated transportation system,” said Tom Linde, one of the community organizers at the beginning of the meeting. “Luckily, even with limitations, our problems aren’t unique. They have been solved already by our joining neighborhoods.”
Around 50 people attended the event. Councilmember Lisa Herbold was in attendance. Light rail is to be completed in West Seattle by 2030.

Ballard dog's birthday and PAWS Charity Event happening June 24
It is your favorite annual event where we celebrate Sabo's birthday, but also take time to raise money for PAWS and collect donations for the Seattle Animal Shelter. I have setup a donation page that you can find here https://give.everydayhero.com/us/sabo-s-birthday-and-paws-fundraiser
Bad Jimmy's Brewery has been kind enough to let us celebrate at their location again this year. They will also be making a donation based on sales for the event, so the more you drink the more money these animals in need recieve.
As usual, we want to see everyones fantastic furry friends. Please be sure they are comfortable in a setting with lots of people and other dogs. Beer drinking and friendly butt sniffing is encouraged.
We will be doing a raffle this year for lots of fun prizes from local businesses with all the proceeds also going to PAWS. As that list grows I will post some of the items on the event page. If you or your company would like to contribute anything please contact me (coggan11@gmail.com)
