Morgan Junction Festival will kick off on June 22 with music, food and fun

Come to celebrate the 14th annual Morgan Junction Community Festival produced by the Morgan Community Association (MoCA) on June 22nd, starting at 10:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm. The festival takes place in and around Morgan Junction Park on California Avenue SW. This year’s festival will feature live music, six food vendors, young people’s entertainment and activities, and over 30 commercial vendor and community informational booths (located in the parking lot behind Zeeks Pizza and on Eddy Street). Woman stabbed to death in SeaTac; Man arrested, their baby being held by CPS

On 06/04/2019 at 8:35 PM KCSO 911 center received a 911 call from a 23 year old female, with sounds of a disturbance in the background to include a male’s voice and a baby crying.  The phone line disconnected and the only address Deputies were provided was from GPS coordinates from the 911 call which was the apartment complex at the 3000 BLK S 208, SeaTac.  Deputies arrived on-scene and began to area check for the disturbance.

Donald Arthur Dorland

 

Donald Arthur Dorland was born on May15, 1936 in Seattle, Washington.  He passed on May 19, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona with his family by his side. 

 

Don graduated from Highline High School in 1954.   He was the first person in his family to attend college.  He was awarded a full-ride basketball scholarship at the University of Washington, and he embraced the opportunity with a passion.    Don joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity and remained connected to many of his fraternity brothers until his passing.  

 

Burien Strawberry Days look to be berry fun June 15 and 16

On Saturday Jun 15, 2019 and Sunday Jun 16, 2019 the annual Burien Strawberry Days will take place featuring live music, a major "low rider" car show, arts, crafts, vendors of all types and yes, more strawberries than you may have ever seen. That's all on Saturday. On Sunday, the car show changes over to a Father's Day vibe with more than 300 classic vehicles on display and a Chili Cook-Off contest being held to give prizes to the best beans.

The hours are Saturday: 10:00am to 8:00pm and Sunday: 10:00am to 4:00pm

Shooting outside Saars Market in White Center sends one to hospital

 At about 11:20 PM on Monday night June 3, an occupied vehicle with 4 people was in the parking lot of the Saars Market at the 10600 BLK 16 AVE SW, White Center. Two suspects approached the vehicle and at least one started shooting at one of the male occupants inside the car. The victim, an 18 year old male from SeaTac, was struck multiple times. Both suspects fled in a vehicle. Detectives hope to be able to release a vehicle description soon.

The first Deputies on-scene provided first aid to the victim until King County Medic 1 arrived. Paramedics were able to stabilize the victim and they transported him to Harborview Hospital in critical condition. As of this morning, 06/04/2019, the victim remains in critical condition at Harborview.

At this time it is unknown if this was a gang related shooting.

King County Major Crimes detectives continue to investigate this incident.
