King County prosecutors file new graffiti and property destruction cases

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has announced the filing of new cases related to graffiti and property destruction, underscoring their commitment to improving the quality of life for county residents and small businesses. According to a statement from King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion, individuals convicted of vandalizing property and causing significant damage should be held accountable for the financial burden of their actions.

The latest filings, detailed in an email from Casey McNerthney of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, include charges against two individuals. These cases are separate from the 34 felony charges already filed in December against 16 defendants.

Do Si Korean BBQ taking over former Duke's Seafood location on Alki Beach

Seattle's Alki Beach is set to welcome a new dining experience this summer as Do Si Korean BBQ, currently operating a location in Kent, has purchased the former Duke's Seafood restaurant at 2516 Alki Ave. SW. The announcement comes shortly after Duke's Seafood confirmed the closure of its Alki location.

Brian Hoang, managing partner of Do Si Korean BBQ, confirmed the purchase on Monday as reported in the Puget Sound Business journal, stating that the goal is to open the second Do Si location on Alki by July. Do Si Korean BBQ offers a variety of Korean barbecue dishes, along with beer, wine, and cocktails.

Seattle rock history on display: Melvins' van featuring Kurt Cobain artwork to appear at Easy Street Records for Record Store Day Preview

West Seattle music fans are in for a treat on April 12, as Julien's Auctions, in partnership with Record Store Day, brings a legendary piece of Seattle rock history to Easy Street Records. The Melvins' touring van, adorned with original artwork by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, will be on public display at the iconic record store located at 4559 California Ave SW from 7 am to 10 am.

This exclusive preview marks the first time ever the van has been shown to the public, offering an intimate glimpse into a raw and authentic artifact from the grunge era. The appearance precedes its inclusion in Julien’s “Music Icons” auction, scheduled for May 30 and 31 in New York City.

Pearl Jam fans unite for Record Store Day celebration at Easy Street Records

In honor of Record Store Day 2025 and the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam's Live at Easy Street EP, Easy Street Records in West Seattle is hosting a special in-store roundtable discussion on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 PM PT. The event will feature shop owner Matt Vaughan, General Manager Adam Tutty, and Ten Club's Tim Bierman as moderator. Two years after the tragic shooting death of Ka'Don Brown, his family and friends gathered once again at the southwest corner of the Chief Sealth International High School campus to honor his memory and reiterate their ongoing quest for justice. The somber gathering marked the anniversary of the day 21-year-old Ka'Don's life was cut short.

Q & A with Seattle Parks about the fate of the Camp Long Lodge

The arson fire that damaged the historic Camp Long Lodge on November 12, of last year did  more than $1 million in damage. Following the fire Diverse Earthworks from Tulalip, WA was called in to do stablization and shoring work on the damaged building.

Seattle Parks and Recreation has contracted with Diverse Earthworks through an emergency public works contract to stabilize the Camp Long Lodge Building after the fire damage occurred.

This work is being done to comply with the Hazard Correction Order Seattle Building Code Case No. 1059812-VI issued by Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections (SDCI).

This Project will stabilize the Camp Long Lodge Building post-fire to comply with the SDCI correction notice.

Blue Moon Burgers on Alki windows smashed

According to staff at Blue Moon Burgers, more than $7000 worth of damage was done by a 17 year male on Sunday morning. The Alki Ave SW restaurant was attacked they said shortly before employees arrived for work.. They said the 17 year old suspect "said the aliens were coming"

it will take a week and a half to replace since the repairs require custom glass sizes.

The suspect was taken into custody by Seattle Police.
