For interested folks, the Central Ballard Residents Association will be meeting on Thursday, Sept. 13, to talk about what's important to, you guessed it, residents in Central Ballard. Today's meeting will include rich topics such as land use, parking and emergency preparedness.

Any Central Ballard resident can become a member, and the meeting is open to the public. At the last meeting in July they talked about parking issues and the Department of Planning and Development's "Comprehensive Plan." See below for the release:

The purpose of this Membership Meeting: report on last month’s Board retreat regarding goal setting for the next 12 months, review the process for electing officers next month, committee reports and other new business.

Secretary's Report: Ethan

Board Meeting minutes for July 12th reviewed/revised/approved.

Standing Committee Reports:

A. Land Use: Ethan - LIHI project review process and involvement in development of a Ballard Town Forum with City officials. To address issues of Ballard’s rapid development.

B. Human Services: Martha and Public Safety: Linda W. – Report on progress of efforts to improve Emergency Preparedness with a special focus on the Ballard Commons HUB.

C. Membership/Outreach: Linda S. – Increasing membership and attendance at meetings.

D. Transportation: Andrew - Update on requested parking study by SDOT to develop RZPs.

New Business:

1. Set election process of Board members for October membership meeting.
2. Present and discuss CBRA Goals for October 2012 through September 2013.
3. Discuss possible participation with table for Sustainable Ballard ($50).
4. Other new business as specified.
