A Day at Adams: One Sunny February As seen through the eyes of Mr. Salter’s first grade class.
Students in Mr. Salter’s first grade class have created a photo collage of images from around Adams Elementary. Each student studied a subject and photographed it from many different perspectives. The result of their creativity is a collection of 25 full color photographs matted in a beautiful frame and set behind archival gallery glass.
Wondering what all that art is doing at the Ballard Branch Library? Adams Elementary is throwing a fundraiser at the Daybreak Star Cultural Center on Saturday, March 28 from 5 to 10 p.m.
Being featured is art done by their very own students, along with other items. You can view auction items and details here.
Unfortunately, the auction is sold out, but you can get added to a waiting list. Here's a message from the Adams Elementary Newsletter:
"This year's auction sold out in record time. If you want to attend but were unable to purchase tickets, please join our waitlist by emailing Amber Christensen at auctionreg@adamselementary.org.* By joining our waitlist, you will also have the opportunity to sign up for a bidder number and have a friend place proxy bids for you at the auction -- ask Amber for more details! *Since we do have a growing waitlist this year, if you know in advance that you will not be able to use your auction tickets, please get in touch with us at auctionreg@adamselementary.org."
Here are a couple more examples of student art. You can see the rest at the Ballard Branch Library. Descriptions are from the auction website.
Each student in room 101 created a unique color shade and has used that color to imprint a neutral color canvas with their own “mark”. Each canvas is covered with all the students unique color “marks”, along with a self chosen splash of color.
The students of Ms. Dillon's class present this set of four trees (only two are pictured here) -- representing Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall -- using each child's fingerprints to depict the colors of the seasons. The set of 4 images will be framed individually so you can hang them in your home any way you like.
