Weekenders find jewelry taken…maybe.
Jan. 31 at the 1200 block of Northwest 116th Street officers responded to a reported burglary. Officers spoke with the complainants and they told officers that they were out of town visiting their cabin and upon arriving home, they determined a pair of erring’s and a ring were stolen. Officers did not find any disturbance on the property and no sign of forced entry. To make sure they items were not lost at the cabin, they went as far as driving back to the cabin to make sure the items were not left there. Indeed, they claimed the items were stolen.
U-Haul yeggs want to file your taxes
Feb. 1 at the 1500 Northwest 54th Street officers responded to burglary in an apartment complex. Offices arrived and the complainant told officers that someone had broken into her car and took change and an envelope containing her tax information. The surveillance cameras showed a suspect dressed in black riding a motorcycle into the parking garage after a tenant opened the garage door. The suspect drove the motorcycle down into the parking garage, parked and tried to use the elevator. After not being able to use the elevator the suspect opened the garage door for another suspect in a white Ford F150 U-Haul. The license plate had been removed from the truck. The footage shows suspects entering the lobby of the building and taking all the delivered packages and loading them into the truck bed. They then fled the scene.
Super Bowl bandit reaches for more than nachos and beer
Feb 3. at the 5600 block of 28th Avenue Northwest officers responded to a residential burglary that occurred while the occupants were watching the Super Bowl. The complainants told officers that after some friends arrived they went to the second floor to watch the game. While the Seahawks dominated the Broncos, the occupants heard a noise downstairs. They found the front door wide open and noticed all their coats had been taken. They checked their home to see if the suspect was still there but found no one. The complainant told officers that in one of the coats their friend had $1300 and his German passport. The complainant also noted her house keys were gone from their place in the window. Officers dusted for fingerprints prints and but did non were recovered.
Crowbar creep takes tools and the ubber-microwave
Feb. 3 at the 800 block of Northwest 49th Street, officers responded to a burglary at a residence that was under constructions. The site manager told officers that sometime over the weekend the door to the residence was pried open with what he thought was a crowbar. Over $200 worth of tools were taken and a microwave. The complainant told officers that the microwave was valued at $899 and the door and doorframe would be over $1200 to replace. Officers dusted for prints but none were recovered.
Basement storage area 51 plundered
Feb. 3 at the 3000 block of Northwest Market Street officers responded to burglary. The complainant showed officers his basement storage area. The complainant told officers that the space has been broken into several times. He showed officers two storage lockers that were broken into as well. Officers saw that the door had been pried open. Several items were stolen, though not mentioned in the police report. No Grays were found on site.
