Information provided by the Ballard Chamber of Commerce
Join the creative community of artists in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood on Saturday, Mar. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. for the monthly Second Saturday Art Walk. During the Art Walk, artists open their studios to the public and neighborhood businesses host local art on their walls. The Ballard Art Walk showcases painting, glass art, sculpture, performance, and more, in venues from Leary Way to Shilshole, and as far north as 65th.
This month, Miro Tea (5404 Ballard Ave. NW) will feature the artwork of Madeline Owen, a senior at Ingraham High School. This talented young artist highlights animals in her show “Curious Poses”. According to her artist statement, “each animal moves in a unique way- the bears lumber, the elk walk gracefully and majestically, the wolves have a spring in their step. I want to explore this energy and movement in my art.”
This family-friendly event is free, and offers visitors and residents alike the opportunity to explore this vibrant and diverse community.
