Thief tries to enter home while resident tends to tomatoes
August 16 officers responded to a burglary report at the 8300 block of 11th Avenue Northwest. When officers arrived the victim told them that at about 9 p.m. that night she had finished gardening and started to prepare dinner. She noticed her kitchen window screens had been cut. Upon inspection, officers said that they had not observed “anything pertinent for the call,” however they did observe fraying on the screens from the cuts. No fingerprints were found.
Shower thief waits for victim to bathe then raids house
On August 14 Seattle Police Department officers were dispatched to a burglary report at the 4300 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest. The victim told officers that after showering, he left for four hours. Before leaving he opened he bathroom window to let the steam of the shower out. Little did he know a thief was lying in wait for the opportunity to enter through the bathroom window. The victim reported that there was no damage done to the point of entry. He told officers that his MacBook Pro was taken and that items in the bathroom had been moved in order to gain entry. The victim has a tracking app on his computer, but since the incident the computer has not been turned on. Officers told the victim to call 911 when the computing machine is engaged.
Burglary pries open paint-sealed window, takes jewelry
On August 15 officers were dispatched to a reported burglary at a residence residing on the 8300 block of 11th Avenue Northwest. The family was on vacation. When they arrived home they realized a window in their child’s bedroom had been pried open. The window had not been opened in years and had been sealed shut with paint. The suspect rifled through the house, pulling out drawers and ransacking closets. The victim reported jewelry missing; but she still had to determine all the pieces the suspect took. Officers dusted for prints but recovered none.
Windows smashed, police leave business cards
On August 15 officers responded to multiple car break-ins at a secure parking lock at a building residing at 5600 24th Avenue Northwest. One of the victims reported her car window had been shattered and items taken from the car. Officers observed that there were multiple other cars with shattered windows that had not been reported. They left business cards on the vehicles.
