Midnight lush shatters glass against bartender’s face
On Sept. 22 SPD officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon at a bar on the 5200 block of Ballard Avenue Northwest. The victim was bleeding from the head and told officers that he was bartending and cut off a patron for being too intoxicated. The patron left and went to a neighbor bar and bought a drink before being cut off again by the bartender there. After 2 a.m. suspect entered the first bar and refused to leave. He sat down at a table where there was a glass and began drinking it. The bartender told him to leave and tried to grab the glass from the suspect. The suspect smashed the glass against the head of the bartender. The tender stumbled back and the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. Officers were unable to locate the suspect after searching the areas, but the neighbor bartender identified the suspect as a regular at the pub. The bartender was treated for his injuries by SFD but denied further medical attention.
Possible gang members beat man out for a stroll, victim photographs suspects
On Sept. 22 officers responded to an assault at the 900 block of Holman road Northwest. The victim was in a local business and had a bloody rag pressed to his face when officers arrived. He was bleeding from the bridge of his nose, nostrils and chin. The victim told officers that he was walking down the street when a group of young black individuals reared a corner and walked toward him. There were three males and two females in the group. One of the females walked up to the victim and punched him in the nose and said, “Back up! What are you going to do about it?” The victim took out his phone to take a picture of the female and one of the males in the group rushed the victim, and tried to take the victim’s phone. The suspect punched the victim in the chin then fled. The victim managed to take pictures of both the female and male suspects. Officers searched the area but found no one. SPD is comparing the pictures to those in their criminal database and hope to find the offenders. Officers reported that the crime might have been gang related.
Thief looking for another Red Bull bump arrested for stealing Walkman
On Sept. 24 officers responded to an armed robbery in progress at the 900 block of Northwest 45th Street. Officers made contact with the business's Loss Prevention Officer who told them that he observed the suspect enter the store, grab two Red Bull drinks and two portable radio devices. She then walked out of the store with the merch. When he tried to stop her she told him she had a gun and would shoot him if he tried to apprehend her. The officer told police he didn’t feel threatened and followed the shoplifter while he called an SPD dispatcher. Police searched the area and found the suspect. Officers told her to stop and she did not. They apprehended her “gently” and placed her on the bumper of the squad car. They found the stolen items and also found out she had a warrant for her arrest. Officers returned the stolen goods and booked the suspect in King County Jail.
