UW Medicine Opens Multi-specialty Location in Ballard
Fri, 02/06/2015
UW Medicine will open a new multi-specialty location on February 2, 2015 on Leary Way in Ballard. Situated next to the Ballard Bridge, UW Medicine Ballard will offer primary care, sports medicine and physical therapy, and later in 2015, urgent care.
The second floor of the UW Medicine Ballard location will house a new 10,000 square foot UW Neighborhood Clinic that will provide comprehensive primary care, from pediatrics to geriatrics. The clinic was designed to support teamwork and the exam rooms were designed for greater patient privacy. The clinic also features five original oil paintings by local artist, Robin Siegl, who has had a studio in Ballard since 2007. The paintings are inspired by Seattle’s industrial waterfront. The clinic will offer extended hours, including evenings and weekends, and same-day appointments, as well as on-site laboratory, digital radiology services, and free parking. A UW Medicine Urgent Care clinic is expected to open on the building’s first floor in June 2015.
“We are thrilled to bring UW Medicine to Ballard,” said Paul G. Ramsey, CEO, UW Medicine. “Northwest Hospital’s The Sports Medicine Clinic has already moved in, and next week we’ll be offering primary care in the new 30,000 square foot facility. We look forward to serving our Ballard patients closer to home and meeting new patients who entrust us with their care.”
Northwest Hospital’s The Sports Medicine Clinic and its physical therapy division, Advanced Manual Therapy, have served the Ballard community for more than 50 years. Both have relocated to the new clinic from their current location several blocks away. The Sports Medicine Clinic will occupy the building’s third floor, with Advanced Manual Therapy in its own space on the first floor. Phone numbers, referrals and appointment scheduling for both practices remain the same.
A community open house is planned from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, featuring tours of the new facility, music, prizes, and health activities. All are welcome. The Ballard Clinic is located next to the Ballard Bridge at 1455 N.W. Leary Way, Suite 250, in Seattle.
