For the first time in nine years most weather forecasters are saying we will have a White Christmas starting from mid afternoon and overnight into Christmas morning.
The snow is likely to begin in mid to late afternoon and continue, elevation dependent, overnight with accumulations from between 1 to 3 inches.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory:
"WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON PST MONDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Plan on road conditions becoming slippery tonight. Total snow accumulations of up to 3 inches expected with the higher amounts in locations around 500 feet and above with less than an inch near the water.
* WHERE...East Puget Sound Lowlands from Snohomish County to Pierce County, including Arlington, Gold Bar, Duvall, Snoqualmie, Buckley, and Eatonville, Bellevue and vicinity, including Mill Creek, Kenmore, Kirkland, and Issaquah and Seattle and vicinity, including Shoreline, Vashon Island, Mercer Island, White Center, Kent, and Algona.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to noon PST Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1."
