Memorial Day on Monday will see several observations of the day we honor those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

In Ballard  there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony and Brunch Monday at 9:30 AM · Ballard Elks Lodge #827 at  6411 Seaview Ave NW.

In West Seattle US Flags will be placed in the  Alaska Junction Monday at 9 AM  by the West Seattle American Legion Post 160 and a Memorial Day Ceremony wiil be held at 2 PM at  Forest Lawn Cemetery & Funeral Home and again American Legion Post 160 will take part. A barbecue cookout will follow at the American Legion Post 3618 SW Alaska SW.

In Burien the Des Moines Memorial Drive Preservation Association is joining with the American Legion to hold a service at 8 AM at the Granite Memorial in front of Sunnydale Elementary School at 156th S and Des Moines Memorial Drive in Burien.
