Nordic Stories
First Thursday of the Month | 10am
Join us for our last two Nordic Stories of 2018! Geared toward preschool-aged children and their grown-ups, Nordic Stories is held the first Thursday of each month—our free day—at 10am. Come listen to a Nordic-themed story and make a fun craft project. This is a free program, no reservations are needed. Please note: This program is not intended for large groups.

Julefest
Saturday-Sunday, November 17-18, | 10am-5pm
Join us for our 41st annual Julefest celebration! Visitors from near and far are invited to gather at the Museum to enjoy Nordic treats, shop for gifts made by local artisans, listen to Nordic music, see the Norwegian sleigh we recently added to our collection, make some Christmas crafts, and, as always, meet Santa! This year’s Julefest will be the first to be held in our gorgeous new home.
Cost: Free for Members, $7.00 general admission, 13 and under free.
Entrance to The Vikings Begin will be by pre-sale tickets—free for members,
$5.00 general admission all ages.

Gingerbread House Program
Saturday, December 1 | 10am-11:30am
Come with your family to decorate a gingerbread house with candy and other goodies to make your home festive for the holidays. The café will be open for refreshments during this program.

Children's Christmas in Scandinavia
Sunday, December 2 | 1-2:30pm
This afternoon of Nordic fun begins at 1pm with the always popular Santa Lucia Pageant, put on by the children of the Swedish School, followed by dancing led by children’s dance group Barneleikarringen. There will also be Christmas crafts to make! Appropriate for all ages, no reservations needed. The café will be open for refreshments during this program.
Suggested donation: $5.00 per person

Master Finno's Songbook: Old Music for Young Voices in Renaissance Finland
Join the cast of Seattle Historical Arts for Kids as they present Master Finno’s Songbook!
Who can participate: Youth cast age 7+; Teen chorus age 13+

Time-travel with SHAK to the sixteenth century, in the Finnish cathedral city of Turku, where the young students in Jakko Finno’s choir have been enjoying their traditional repertoire for many generations. Now that books are being printed all over Europe, it’s time to decide whether to make this beloved ancient song collection available to the rest of the world.
Enroll in the youth cast to act and sing, or in the teen chamber chorus for an advanced, music-focused experience.
