To celebrate his service franchise moving to a new location in downtown Burien, CEO of Home Task Network Jerrod Sessler organized a community event to celebrate local restaurants with the alliterative title of Burien Bites. “We wanted to give something to the community” said Sessler.
Sessler, who has lived in Burien for forty years explained, “We moved our business to this location on 152nd which was Georgetown Jewelers for fifty years and we thought we should do a grand opening but honestly who would come to an opening for a business? We’re not a retail business, we’re just an office and we thought we should do something for the community. Burien has a lot of great restaurants so let’s see if we can make something of that. We came up with ‘Burien Bites”, and this would give us something to do very year instead of a onetime shot. Burien Bites is intended to be an annual event where we can celebrate the great food and the great purveyors that are in Burien, bring the community together for an evening of walking around and trying different food. My vision is for us to be in the community, part of the community, to bless the community, to reach out to the community and bring everybody together. And that’s why we created “Burien Bites."
Sessler was kind enough to send the Highline Times the results from the event.
