Brian Seldt – Pestilence
Paper cuttings and projections.
Residences at Burien Town Square

Runs from July 1 through July 31st.
Opening event in conjunction with the B-Town BEAT, July 11th from 6 – 9 PM.
"Pestilence" is the second installation in my Apocalypse series. I use pestilence signifiers of the early Plagues and continue to contemporary plagues such as GMOs, environmental poisoning, lab-borne diseases and Orwellian politics.
Using the medium of paper-cuts coupled with projections, I pull pestilence beyond historical associations and suggest new definitions.

Amaranta graduated from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes from Mexico City, specializing in Ceramics, Stained mosaic, Textiles,and Mexican Folk Art. Through all these years she has blend the NW culture and Latino heritage to express and define her Artwork.
She is an Art Educator, an Artist, an Arts Facilitator, a Mother and an Arts Advocate for equal opportunity for everyone. She has worked extensively with many arts organizations, non-profits, museums, schools, community centers, private and public school since 2000. She is been coordinated, collaborated and curate Cultural events and Festivals in Seattle
She enjoys working with children, youth, and families.
On a sunny Sunday you will see her roller skating on Alki beach and hanging out with her lovely son.
