Thunderbirds
The Seattle Thunderbirds will host the Tri-City Americans for a 7:35 p.m. Western Hockey League match at Showare Center in Kent this coming Friday.
Seattle goes to Everett for 7:05 p.m. action Saturday before coming back to Showare to play Prince George at 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
Mariners
Pitchers and catchers report for spring training in Peoria, Ariz. this Wednesday with the first workout on Thursday.
Remaining position players report on Monday and the first full team workout will be next Tuesday.
Colleges
Men's basketball
The University of Washington Huskies host Stanford for a 6 p.m. Wednesday before getting a noon visit from California on Saturday.
Wednesday's game will be aired on ESPN 2 and Saturday's on the Pac-12 network.
Washington State University, meanwhile, will host California at 8 p.m. Wednesday on ESPNU before Stanford visits at 4 p.m. Saturday on the Pac-12 network.
Gonzaga entertains Pepperdine at 6 p.m. Thursday and Loyola Marymount at 5 p.m. Saturday with both games on ROOT Sports.
Seattle University will visit Utah Valley at 6:05 p.m. Thursday before dropping in on Cal State Bakersfield at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Seattle Pacific University will be at home playing Simon Fraser at 7:30 p.m. Thursday before hosting Western Washington University at the same time Saturday.
Women's basketball
Seattle Pacific University hosts Central Washington University for a 5:15 p.m. game Thursday before getting a 5:15 p.m. visit from Northwest Nazarene this coming Saturday, while Seattle University hosts Utah Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday and Cal State Bakersfield at 4 pm. Saturday.
The University of Washington goes to Colorado for a 5:30 p.m. game Friday and visits Utah at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Friday's game carried on the Pac-12 network.
Washington State University's Cougars are at Utah at 6 p.m. Friday and at Colorado at noon Sunday, with Sunday's on Pac-12.
Gonzaga goes to San Diego for 6 p.m. action Tursday and to Brigham Young for a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
High schools
Boys basketball
Kennedy Catholic opens the West Central sub-district 3A tournament Wednesday, hosting Peninsula for a 5:45 p.m. game.
The winner plays for first and second at 5:45 p.m. Friday and the loser for third and fourth at 7 p.m. that day.
Kennedy won the Seamount League regular season title with a 13-1 record.
Foster made the 2A sub-district tournament, paying a 7 p.m. visit to Fife. The tournament continues Thursday and concludes with placement games Friday, with all tournament games at the home of the highest seed.
Foster is guaranteed a trip to next week's West Central District tournament as well.
Girls basketball
After winning the regular season Seamount League championship with a 14-0 record the Kennedy Catholic Lancers will host Bonney Lake for a 7:30 p.m. West Central sub-district 3A tournament game Wednesday.
The winner plays for first and second place Friday and the loser plays for third and fourth that night.
Tyee and Evergreen are both involved in the 2A sub-district tournament, with Tyee opening with a 7 p.m. visit to Franklin Pierce on Tuesday and Evergreen going to Sumner at the same time. Tournament action continues Thursday with placement games Friday (all at the home of the highest seed). Both teams will also be in next week's West Central District tournament.
Mount Rainier will be involved in the South Puget Sound League crossover playoff games Tuesday as the North Division champion, taking on South Division champion Todd Beamer of Federal Way at the Showare Center in Kent with an 8 p.m. start.
Gymnastics
Mount Rainier will host both the 3A and 4A West Central District meets on Saturday, with the 4A getting underway at 9:40 a.m. and the 3A at 4:20 p.m.
Wrestling
Seamount League athletes will take part in regional action Saturday, with the 3A boys going to Skyline, the 2A boys to Hockinson and the girls to Bellingham.
Swimming
Hazen is hosting both the 2A and 3A West Central District meets this coming Friday and Saturday, with the 2A finals starting at 11 a.m. Saturday and the 3A finals at 5 p.m.
Mount Rainier will be involved in the 4A meet that starts at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Curtis High School.
