Clean Sweep and Shred Day April 26th
Mon, 04/07/2014
It’s time again to roll up those sleeves to tackle trash and beautify Burien! Join fellow community members during the city’s annual Clean Sweep on Saturday, April 26th, sponsored by Recology CleanScapes.
From 8:00am – Noon, Burienites will be shredding confidential paperwork, picking up litter, eliminating graffiti, trimming shrubs, planting flowers and sweeping sidewalks.
Continental breakfast will be available at Fire Station 2 on 8th Ave, along with a hot dog lunch to thank the volunteers. Participants will receive a raffle ticket for prizes to be handed out at the end of the event!
HomeTask’s Shred Day event takes place from 9:00am – Noon. The suggested donation for shredding is $10 for the first box and $5 for each additional box (typical fees are around $35/box).
All proceeds from Shred Day go to local nonprofits, some of whom will be at the event. Boxes of paperwork can be left at HomeTask before the shredding truck arrives. HomeTask is located at 611 SW 152nd St, Burien.
During the 2013 Clean Sweep, more than 400 people eliminated over 8 tons of garbage from Burien’s streets, parks and commercial areas. Please join us in exceeding these numbers in 2014!
