Timely serving by Seattle Christian led to a 25-15 Pool A finale win against Foster (Tukwila) at the Second Annual Seattle Christian volleyball tournament on Sat., Oct. 4.
Leading 13-12, the Warriors sealed the No. 2 seed for the afternoon tournament play an incredible 11 straight points behind the serving of sophomore Kelli Ronish. The Warrior hitters also benefited from Bulldog mistakes that prolonged the point positioning despite some long rallies at times.
With the score Seattle Christian 24, Foster 12, the Bulldogs notched three consecutive points before the Warriors closed out the match.
"I really appreciated the front line support," said Ronish who served three aces to complement four kills apiece from Abi Sauer and Erika Kaler.
Early action feature closer competition as the Bulldogs fell behind 12-5 before a big serve from Aolani Medrano mixed in with goo team play enable the Bulldogs to outscore the Warriors 7-1 ahead of the SC point power bombing.
Foster got the No. 7 seed to set up an afternoon rematch against Seattle Christian in the tournament's opening round of double elimination.
