Man shot in Des Moines Red Robin parking lot
A man is recovering in a hospital after being shot in the chest in the parking lot of the Red Robin Gourmet Burgers restaurant in Des Moines. According to information released by the Des Moines police, the incident occurred on the evening of June 30th. Police were called to the scene, near the intersection of South 227th Street and Marine View Drive South, after multiple reports of gunfire. The suspect, a 20-year-old white male, told police that he and the victim, a 40-year-old hispanic male, were meeting at the restaurant but began to argue in the parking lot. When the disagreement escalated, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen. The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with possible life threatening injuries. The suspect, who waited after the shooting for the police to arrive, was transported to Highline Hospital in Burien with a puncture wound in one of his arms. Police have not released information about the disagreement or the nature by which the suspect received his wound. The condition of the two men is unknown. Charging information related to the shooting has yet to be released.
