Capital Facilities Advisory Committee Lottery Results

Burien, WA – Highline Public Schools conducted a lottery drawing on October 7 to fill 25 at-large positions for the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC). The public event, presided over by Board President Bernie Dorsey, was held at Highline’s central office and was carried live on Periscope with results sent out on Twitter.
“Public schools belong to the entire community, and funding for capital improvements is generated though voter-approved bond measures,” said Superintendent Susan Enfield. “It is essential that community members participate in developing the District’s long-term capital facility plan to ensure that it reflects the values and priorities of the community.”

The Capital Facilities Advisory Committee will develop recommendations for a capital facility plan that ensures adequate, equitable, and sustainable school facilities that provide students with a high-quality learning environment. This committee will provide a forum for the community to give meaningful input on a long-term capital facilities plan and ensure that the long-term capital facility plan reflects community values and priorities.
The first meeting of the CFAC will be October 14, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at district central offices (15675 Ambaum Blvd SW in Burien.)
