Animal Aid and Rescue Foundation to Host Fundraiser in Support of Rescue Animals
AARF, a Burien animal rescue, invites the community to attend their 8th annual Whine & Cheese fundraiser on Friday, June 24th 2016 at the Glen Acres Golf and Country Club in Burien. Attendees can purchase tickets in advance at www.myaarf.org.
Whine & Cheese, sponsored in part by Achten’s Quality Roofing, will benefit AARF’s rescue and aid efforts, finding wonderful forever homes for homeless pets, and providing supplies and covering vet care for struggling pet owners. General tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and include a free drink and a raffle ticket. VIP tickets are $50 and include 2 drinks, 2 raffle tickets, a swag bag and front row auction seating.
The event starts at 6pm with a photo booth and time to view auction items. Silent auction opens at 6pm, live auction begins at 7pm. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening with vegetarian and vegan options. A selection of beer and wine will be available for purchase.
“Whine & Cheese is our big event for the year and we are able to do so much good with the money we raise! It is great to me that we can throw a fun party and save animals at the same time!” says AARF President Angie Green.
Founded in 2008 in the Seattle area, AARF has been a small but mighty force in the rescue world. With an all-volunteer group, they have rescued and placed countless dogs (and a few cats!) in to loving forever homes! In the last couple of years, AARF began working with rescues in Texas and Louisiana to pull dogs from high kill shelters to homes in the Pacific Northwest. They have even begun spay and neuter efforts there to help reduce the number of unwanted pets.
