Updates, enhancements, and renovation of facilities and grounds to take place on one day, Saturday, October 6, beginning at 8:00 am, at St. Bernadette School, with over 300 volunteers taking part.
St. Bernadette Parish School in Burien is a vibrant school of nearly 200 students in preschool through 8th grade. St. Bernadette's is a multicultural school with many traditions, celebrations, and activities, including cultural events, throughout the year sponsored by the Parents' Club. The School is characterized by extraordinarily supportive parents, innovative teachers, and enthusiastic students. The school provides an excellent education in a spiritual setting.
St. Bernadette Parish School was selected by the grant committee of the annual NAIOP Community Enhancement Grant for 2018. The Grant, including materials and work completed, is valued at about $400,000.00 and provides renovations and updates at the School which will be accomplished during one day of work by over 300 volunteers, professionals in the construction industry, organized by NAIOP. The playground, play area, fencing, School entries, and some classrooms will be updated and improved during this day.
For over 50 years, NAIOP (National Association for Industrial and Office Parks) has provided advocacy, education and business opportunities by connecting members in a powerful North American network in the commercial real estate development and investment industry.Each year NAIOP Washington State selects from applicants a non-profit or government organization in the Pacific Northwest for a day of service that provides needed upgrades and maintenance to the selected project site. The NAIOP Community Enhancement Committee plans the implementation of dozens of individual projects at the selected site, solicits the needed materials and financial resources, and coordinates hundreds of volunteers to make the projects happen. Over 25 years, NAIOP has upgraded and remodeled schools, playgrounds, child-care and special needs centers, and school camps, including restoration of habitat for salmon and other native species, utilizing the unique talents and resources of the NAIOP community.
St. Bernadette Parish School is a Catholic school. We educate students in grades preschool through 8th Grade and our mission is to teach Christian values in a Catholic-centered environment, to foster academic excellence, and to develop compassionate stewards.
