The groundbreaking of the White Center Community HUB is taking place this Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Hicks Lake, Dick Thurnau Park's Bicycle Playground, 11050 10th Ave SW.

The White Center Community HUB will feature a large hall, recording studio, maker space, community kitchen, and much more, alongside vital affordable housing. 

Aaron Garcia, Director at White Center Community Development Association  said, "This milestone is a testament to the tireless advocacy and resilient spirit of our community, which has been the driving force behind this transformative project since we began in 2017.

This endeavor began at community meetings and summits where residents voiced a clear demand for accessible housing and community spaces that truly serve their needs. From sweltering summer gatherings during King County Comp Plan meetings to consistent, passionate dialogue at our annual housing summits, our community's commitment has been unwavering."
