A West Seattle schoolroom was broken into on May 25. The unknown suspect(s) broke in through a window the night before, ransacking a cell phone charger, candy, toys and some shaving cream. A trail of shaving cream led responding officers from the scene of the crime to a nearby park where candy wrappers and forgotten M&M’s littered the ground.
A friendly game of poker at a bar on s.w. Alaska St turned old west on May 23. Two men started the game of cards around 8 p.m., playing for fun with no actual money exchanging hands. 10 p.m. (and likely several drinks later) came around and the last hand was dealt. The victim apparently had the winning hand, prompting the suspect to smash a large beer glass into his head. The suspect fled the scene and medics treated the victim for several deep cuts. He declined their recommendation to visit the hospital for stitches and police put in a request for a copy of the bar’s surveillance footage.
A neighbor and his camera thwarted an attempted burglary of a home on 23rd Ave s.w. on May 23. It was nearing 11 p.m. when the witness noticed a green Chevy Impala with five suspects inside described and three black females and two black males between the ages of 16 to 20. He watched the vehicle come to a stop a few houses down. A female walked to the door, knocked and came back to the car. Next a black male emerged from the vehicle and began knocking on the door to ensure no one was home. Once convinced, he headed towards the back of the house with another black male. The witness called 911, grabbed his camera and started taking pictures of the suspects in the vehicle. Shortly thereafter (likely tipped off by a manic text), the males emerged, made eye contact with their personal paparazzi and fled. The witness saved the home from being burglarized as the suspects had only ripped out a screen before they were alerted to being watched.
