Marine Hills of Federal Way won the day at this year's Seattle Summer Swimming League All-City championships at the Klahaya Pool in Edmonds, scoring 316.5 points ahead of the 274 of the Aquaclub.
But Highline School District and White Center area teams were not to be denied.
Normandy Park slipped in a sixth place finish with 121 points and Arbor Heights of White Center took 10th with a score of 103. Olympic View, also of Normandy Park, placed 12th with 77 points and Gregory Seahurst of Burien scored a 15th place finish with 53 points.
Area first place finishes at the Tuesday, Aug. 2 meet started off with Megan Kawaguchi, Anna Burdine, Natalie Mutter and Sophia Cassam of Normandy Park taking the girls age 13-14 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 57.13 seconds.
Kawaguchi then won the 100 individual medley in a time of 1:00.43 and Emily Zacharias of Gregory Seahurst captured first in the girls age 9-10 50 free in 27.62. Ty Lindblom of the Arbor Heights Club won the boys age 9-10 50 backstroke in 36.36 and Kawaguchi won the girls age 13-14 race in 27.78.
Thane Maudslien of Normandy Park won the men's age 15-18 50 back in 24.39 and teammate Alex Hastings won the boys 11-12 50 butterfly in 28.78.
Dillon Webster of Olympic View captured the championship in the men's age 15-18 50 fly in 24.41 and the 11-12 boys 200 freestyle relay team of Hastings, Burdine, Tyler Goodspeed and Sam Johnson from Normandy Park won in 1:51.49.
Normandy Park's girls age 13-14 200 free relay team of Cassam, Burdine, Mutter and Kawaguchi scored a first place finish in 1:46.92.
Arbor Heights prevailed in the boys age 13-14 200 free relay in 1:40.07 with Quinn Schiller, Alexander Mackenzie, Nathaniel Williams and Sam Cook making up the foursome.
Maudslien was second in the men's age 15-18 50 free with a time of 21.60 and the Normandy Park team of Anders Hunt, Joseph Burdine, Alyx Hastings and Johnson combined for second in the boys 11-12 200 medley relay in 2:06.96.
Zacharias took second in the girls 9-10 100 IM in 1:08.49 for Gregory Seahurst and CJ Elleby of Olympic View was second in the boys 9-10 50 free in 31.42.
Alyx Hastings of Normandy Park then took the boys 11-12 50 backstroke in 30.85 -- just ahead of teammate Sam Johnson's 32.16.
Benjamin Kinerk of Arbor Heights placed second in the boys age 9-10 50 back with a time of 42.35 and Burdine was second in the girls age 13-14 50 breast in 32.64.
Nathaniel Williams of Arbor Heights came in second in the boys age 13-14 50 free in 32.94 and William Ikeda of Gregory Seahurst placed second in the age 15-18 50 breaststroke in 27.97. Lindblom of Arbor Heights was second in the boys 9-10 25 butterfly in 15.83 and Reva Zacharias came in second in the girls 13-14 fly for Gregory Seahurst in 28.85.
Normandy Park's foursome of Grace Felner, Victoria Dow, Lauren Phelps and Camilla Maudslien captured second in the girls 9-10 200 free relay in 2:08.04.
