The salon portion of VAIN West Seattle will open early 2012. This is just a holiday preview soft opening, with limited hours through Christmas.
We are so excited that we'll be able to open our doors and meet our West Seattle neighbors in time for the holidays. The space is looking incredible and we can't wait for people to see it." The business will open completely "sometime in January."
The business is close to 2500 square feet in size, large enough to accommodate the up to 15 stylists who will work out of the salon (not at the same time) plus retail space. Some will only work one day in West Seattle. "It's about half and half," said owner Victoria Ptak. They will carry fashion accessories and jewelry, bags and merchandise from local artists. Pretty Poison and Orange Lighthouse are two you will see.
Beauty products the salon/boutique will carry include Onesta "with the best natural products I've ever used," said Ptak. Also featured are products from Keune, Kevin Murphy, Davines, Loma (a local NW brand). They plan to work cooperatively with Jan's Beauty Supply right next door, offering a different range of beauty supplies.
The "face" of the West Seattle location will be Christine Casagna. Ptak said, "People in the junction are really excited for us to open and some people have inquired about the services we'll offer so we're excited to get open too."
The Beer Junction, according to owner Morgan Herzog will open in January or February in the space just adjacent with a "shared space" between the two businesses.
