11:00 p.m. on April 26th. 60th block of Phinney Ave N

Police arrested the male suspect in an April 17th robbery on the night of April 26th. On April 17th the suspect, along with two female suspects, assaulted and robbed a woman who owed them money. The crime occurred at the 80th block of 24th Ave NW. Police did not find the suspects in the area when they first responded to the incident. On April 26th, officers located the male suspect in a vehicle on Phinney Ave N and observed him fumbling with something under the seat. They stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody. When he got out of the car, a holster fell to the ground, and officers found a handgun under the seat. The 46-year-old suspect was taken to the Robbery Unit office for questioning and then booked in King County Jail on robbery and firearms violation charges. The robbery is still under investigation.

7:23 p.m. on April 26th. 43rd block of 5th Ave NW

Police responded to reports of a burglary at an uninhabited residence on the evening of April 26th. The complainant, a neighbor, said that the home had been damaged in a fire several months ago and abandoned ever since. The doors do not lock, and the complainant said that he checks on the house every day. He said that when he arrived at the house that day, several items had been moved from the closet to the floor. The complainant asked another neighbor if she had seen or heard anything suspicious, and she said that she had heard activity at the house at around 2:30 a.m. The complainant said that the only items he knew to be missing were a drill and battery. He also said that he found a toolbox in his yard, and he believed that the burglar had left it there. The tool set included a drill that one neighbor believed may have been used to open her locked vehicle on a previous incident.

4:25 p.m. on April 23rd. 3rd block of NW 85th St

Police responded to reports of a disturbance involving a female yelling and screaming on the afternoon of April 23rd. They could not locate the woman when they arrived at the scene, but they were stopped by a man who said that he wanted to report a burglary at his house. The victim said that on April 15th he had allowed an acquaintance to stay at his house. On the 18th he arrived home to find another acquaintance at his house as well. He allowed this person to stay for a few days, but on the 21st he told both acquaintances to leave. He said that both of them became angry and screamed at him, but they did leave.

The victim woke up on the 23rd to find that one of the individuals was sleeping on his couch again. He told the individual to leave, and the individual complied. The victim left his house at 12:00 p.m. and returned later to find his kitchen window broken. He was not sure whether anything was taken and said that he was more concerned with keeping the individuals away from his house. The victim’s neighbor told police that he saw two white males and a female going in and out of the victim’s house at 12:30 p.m. He recognized two of them as the individuals who had been staying at the victim’s house. One of them yelled and threw bricks at the victim’s house. Several neighbors told police that the victim’s house was a trouble spot with individuals frequently coming to stay and causing disturbances. When police told the victim this, the victim began to cry and said that he couldn’t keep people away from his house. He said that most of them were transients.

At the time of the report, there had been three reports involving the residence in three days. Neighbors and nearby businesses said that many incidents were not being reported.
