Anti-love in an elevator
A female resident of a retirement/elderly living facility on 35th Ave S.W. got a little rough with the staff on May 31, leading to a 911 call and police filling out paperwork for aggravated assault with a weapon. The resident and a staff member were in the elevator when the resident asked, “What floor do I live on?” The employee later told police the woman habitually forgets her floor and misplaces the keycards she is given to gain entry to that floor. In this particular case, the employee said she told the woman which floor she lived on, but the resident became upset and started ramming the victim in the legs and hips with her walker. No arrests were made.

A fight’s gravitational pull
A few minutes before last call on June 5, at a bar near the corner of California and Alaska, a man stepped outside for a cigarette. A group of males started fighting near him and, as the man retold the story to police the next day, they pulled him into the melee and he was punched several times before someone yanked him out of the crowd. The victim had a sore neck and possible fractured foot. He filled out a Crime Victims Compensation Program form. The form is an application to help innocent victims of crime pay for medical costs.

Door tap leads to attack
Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of S.W. Alaska St around 10 a.m. on June 3 to investigate the assault of a man who was lying in the parking lot with a small laceration on his cheek and a head wound. The victim told police he was sitting in his parked car when a light-colored Cadillac pulled up on his right. The driver of the Caddy opened his door and hit the victim’s vehicle with it while getting out. The victim got out, intent on having a conversation about the damage. A woman in the victim’s car said the next thing she knew, her friend was on the ground unconscious. A witness with a wider vantage point retold what he saw: As the victim got out to talk with the Cadillac man, another male got out of a small red car parked next to the caddy, took three quick steps towards the victim, and hit him in the back of the head with an elbow. The victim fell forward and struck his face on the bumper of the Caddy. The suspects and their vehicles were gone within moments. A license plate number for the small red car brought back an address on 29th Ave S.W. and police planned to follow up with the owner.

Savage beating in South Park
On the evening of June 1, a man was near the currently missing South Park bridge putting change away in his shoe when an unknown assailant walked up behind and hit him hard in the back of the head. The victim fell unconscious and woke up later missing his pants, shoes, money, ID and debit cards. He found help and was taken to Harborview Hospital wearing only his boxers and shirt. The victim suffered a broken nose, a bump on the back of his head and scrapes and bruises around his eyes. Police visited him in the hospital for more information, but he was unable to provide a suspect description.
