Latest updates on overnight closures of the Spokane Street Viaduct

In the coming week, the eastbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct will be closed overnight both Monday and Tuesday, June 18-19. The westbound lanes will be closed overnight on Wednesday, June 20.
On the morning of Thursday, June 21, the eastbound off-ramp at First Avenue S will be reopened.
Additional details on these and other project related traffic impacts in the coming week are outlined below.
Calendar of Upcoming Project Traffic Impacts:
Monday, June 18 – Wednesday, June 20
· Southbound traffic on East Marginal Way S at S Spokane Street will be detoured to the west and back south for three nights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. There may also be short-term restrictions on north to westbound turn movements.
Monday, June 18 – Tuesday, June 19
· Eastbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct will be closed at SR 99, with all traffic diverted to northbound SR 99. Traffic wishing to reach I-5 or SODO should use lower S Spokane Street. The closure will run from 10 p.m. both nights until 5 a.m. the following morning.
· The left westbound travel lane of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 will be closed from 10 p.m. both nights until 5 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be maintained in the remaining westbound lane.
· Southbound traffic on First Avenue S between S Horton and S Spokane Streets will be closed from 9 p.m. both nights until 5 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be detoured around the closure.
Wednesday, June 20
· The westbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Thursday morning. The SR 99 off-ramp to West Seattle will remain open, providing an opportunity to avoid the closure.
· The left eastbound lane of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Thursday morning. Traffic will be maintained in the remaining eastbound lane.
Thursday, June 21
· The eastbound First Avenue S off-ramp from the Spokane Street Viaduct, which has been closed for several weeks, will reopen at 5 a.m.
Thursday, June 21 – Friday, June 22
Northbound traffic on East Marginal Way S at S Spokane Street will be detoured to the east frontage roadway under SR 99 both nights from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Northbound traffic wishing to turn west at S Spokane Street will execute a U-turn at S Horton Street.
