West Seattle Greenways, a part of the Seattle Neighborhood Greenways (SNG) coalition reports that the Delridge neighborhood will get $60,000 toward a new bike/ped path linking the future 26th Ave Greenway to the West Seattle bridge trail.
Speaking on behalf of West Seattle Greenways, Stu Hennessy (also owner of Alki Bike and Board) said, "The West Seattle Bridge connection has always been an awkward design. Thanks to the hard work of many and with the support of the North Delridge Neighborhood Association we can now start chipping away at the problem and create a safer, more efficient corridor for all users including the hundreds of bicycle commuters. Spokespeople West Seattle will also form work parties with permits from SDOT to take some ownership of our own situation and improve other problem spots in this area."
SNG represents 19 neighborhoods to plan and advocate for safe and healthy streets connecting us to the places we use, whether we walk, drive, ride a bike, push a stroller, or move by wheelchair.
