Residents of the 36th District have been receiving harassing robo-calls claiming affiliation with the Gael Tarleton campaign, according to a press release sent out by Tarleton's campaign.

Voters reported to the campaign that they have been receiving up to a dozen of these robo-calls within a half-hour from the campaign, on Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The press release states that Tarleton nor her campaign staff have anything to do with the calls.

The calls were from the number 720-862-2044. The owner of the phone number has been traced to an out-of-state company called J2 Solutions.

In the press release, Tarleton was suspicious of the calls.

“I really don’t know if these calls are coming from misguided supporters or it’s a dirty trick. But after three weeks of big-money attacks against me paid for by a $100,000 independent expenditure by friends of my opponent, it is suspicious. It certainly feels deliberate and intended to harm my campaign,” Tarleton said.

On candidate Noel Frame's side, Campaign Manager Lisa MacLean said that they had no clue about the robo-calls. MacLean said she first heard about them when Tarleton's campaign manager, Sue Evans, posted about it on Facebook.

"The Frame campaign is equally concerned about it, but has not heard about it from the thousands of voters it's been in touch with (while doorbelling)," MacLean said.

Wherever they are from, Tarleton said she is adamant about investigating the problem.

“I want to be very clear, my campaign in no way sanctioned these calls, paid for these calls or condones these calls,” Tarleton said. “We are investigating these calls after receiving several complaints from concerned 36th District voters.”
