It looks like Golden Gardens has become HQ for the local anti-coal folks.
On Monday, April 22, 1:30 p.m. at Golden Gardens, Mayor Mike McGinn and other elected officials from city governments and tribal nations across the Pacific Northwest will announce the formation of a new coalition to oppose coal trains and coal exports.
We'll stop by and write up a report. If you want to learn more about the coal export terminal controversy, check out our previous coverage: "In Ballard, a train of people against trains of coal," "21st Century Viking: What Is the Coal Train Controversy Really About?," "No surprises; coal opponents overwhelm Seattle public meeting," "Taking a stance on coal." (And more, just type in "coal" into the search function if you aren't tired of reading.)
