Area foursome wins
Four athletes from West Seattle have just become champions for their brackets at the 2013 Spokane HoopFest. The girls are from Chief Sealth International High School (Sidney Proctor, Samantha Scroggins, Lani Taylor and Allison Hadaway) and they went undefeated this past weekend.
Brock Huard camp returns
Over 150 youth, ages 8-18, will take the field at Renton Memorial Stadium on Thursday, July 11 for the third annual Brock Huard Youth Football Camp, a free football clinic with former Huskies and Seahawks quarterback Brock Huard.
In partnership with Sports in Schools, 710 ESPN Seattle along with former NFL players Dave Wyman and Damon Huard will teach kids the value of teamwork, perseverance and hard work from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Renton.
“For the third consecutive year, I’m thrilled to give back to the community that has given so much to me, and without all of our tremendous partners, none of it could happen,” said 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard.
The camp is free to the public thanks to the support of the Renton School District, Sports in Schools, Taco Time Northwest, Cadman, King County Offices of Country Financial, PromoShop, Muscle Milk, Aquafina, and Kimmel Athletic, and reached maximum capacity in less than two days.

Mist ready to roll into action
The undefeated Seattle Mist women's professional football team hopes to close out its home schedule with a domination of the Minnesota Valkyrie Saturday, July 6 at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
Tickets are $15, $25 $35, $55 and $88 at ShoWare Center's box office or by phone at (253) 856-6999.
The Mist and Valkyrie are members of the 7-on-7 Legends Football League that used to be known as the Lingerie Football League.
