The West Seattle High School marching band led the kid's costume parade during the annual West Seattle Harvest Festival in the junction on Oct. 27. The event featured trick or treating for the kids from area merchants and a chili cook off.
The annual West Seattle Harvest Festival got a soggy start under a steady mist but by the time the kid's costume parade rolled around at 11:30am the weather had cleared a bit so all the little ones could take part.
Thousands came to the Junction to take the kids trick or treating at area merchants and enjoy the dozens of booths from the relocated farmers market (normally behind the junction on Sundays) and many others.
The costumes on display were remarkable anyone's estimation from the usual prepackaged version of skeletons and cartoon characters from mutant turtles to Minions to home made versions of heroes, or even more creative efforts. A mother and daughter even dressed up as a car hop and a hot fudge sundae.
The event also offered a chili cook off between area restaurants including:
- The Bridge
- Beer Junction
- Easy Street Café
- Elliott Bay Brewery
- Feedback Lounge
- Husky Deli
- Terra Cole Butchery
