This letter is to thank Southwest Suburban Sewer District and Emswiler Construction for prompt repair of a broken sewer pipe, and Worx Plumbing and Drain Pro Plumbing for quickly figuring out that we needed SWSSD.

March 10 we had a clogged sewer pipe. We called David at Worx Plumbing. He found an obstruction far down the line that would not clear, and recommended calling Drain Pro Plumbing because they had equipment that could go farther down the line. They arrived about 5:30 that evening, but could not clear the pipe, and said there appeared to be broken pipes underground. Nick from Drain Pro called SWSSD and talked to the emergency crew who came out that night at 7:30. They spent a couple hours, but hit the same obstruction, and arranged to have a crew out the next morning with more equipment.

The crews from SWSSD arrived at 7:30 the next morning and were at our home until 7:30 that night, and back again on Wednesday until the problem were solved. SWSSD called Emswiler Construction to do the actual repair work. They had pumper trucks, backhoes, dump trucks – and everyone working on the repair was friendly and careful.

We were very impressed with how quickly SWSSD replied and the time spent working outside in the rain and dark on Monday evening.

Everyone involved did a great job. For access to the pipes, they had to dig an eight foot deep hole in the front yard and move some plants. When the job was finished, the plants were back; the yard was cleaned up and looked untouched.

It’s a dirty, messy job at any time, but these people were working in mud from all the recent rain, making it much less pleasant.

I feel fortunate to live in the Southwest Suburban Sewer District because they responded immediately and had competent contractors.
