April 2014 Ballard Art Walk this Saturday
Bret Lyon's "Movement No. 37"
Thu, 04/10/2014
Join the creative community of artists in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. for the monthly Second Saturday Art Walk. During the Art Walk, artists open their studios to the public and neighborhood businesses host local art on their walls. The Ballard Art Walk showcases painting, glass art, sculpture, performance, and more, in venues from Leary Way to Shilshole, and as far north as 65th.
This month, the ReStore’s 13th Annual Recycled Art Show opens at Blowing Sands Studio (5805 14th Ave. NW). Artists were charged with submitting works that bring new life to the discarded. The show includes original works of various mediums made with found objects and materials. The pieces are described as “whimsical to sophisticated, intricate to bold, folk art to modern craft to domestic handicraft,” and the show as “an entertaining collection all based on the concept that inspiration is where you find it.”
This family-friendly event is free, and offers visitors and residents alike the opportunity to explore this vibrant and diverse community.
