Burger Boss founders and owner Brian Azzano and Ryan Hopkins admired their new sign. The new take-away restaurant will have no indoor seating but will have an extensive burger menu and ice cream, shakes and floats.
Set for a June 7 soft opening Burger Boss at 9061 Delridge Way S.W. will be a brand new walk-up-style fast-service restaurant. A block party style grand opening is set for just after the 4th of July.
Owners Brian Azzano and Ryan Hopkins are both White Center residents for more than a decade and said the new eatery will offer fresh burgers, chicken bites, fries, onion rings, corn dogs, soft-serve ice cream, cones, floats, milkshakes and more.
The duo have been friends since their college days and have worked on many projects together including the construction and launch of Fuel Sports Bar in Pioneer Square in Seattle. Between them they have over 30 years of restaurant experience.
The food is anything but trendy. They said their signature item is called the Boss Hog which features 2 patties, cheese, sliced ham and smoked bacon. But for the less adventurous (or with a normal appetite they will offer basic hamburgers and cheeseburgers in single, double, triple or larger sizes.
For non beef eaters or the calorie conscious Burger Boss will offer a turkey burger and a chicken sandwich as well as flavored boneless chicken bites with your choice of dipping sauces included. The French fries are classic crinkle cut, fried a golden brown and always include a side of house made Boss Sauce.
It has taken just over a year to get Burger Boss open. They signed the lease on the building, a former gas station, a year ago April.
They see their new restaurant as part of the revitalization of White Center. Their experience with Fuel taught them that by investing in the community and creating a place people wanted to go, it could transform the area. They believe the same thing will happen for Burger Boss.
They want to bring families to the restaurant, said Azzano. "Every day that we're out here working we see families walking up Barton or down Delridge and I think the people that live in this part of town...family is really important to them."
They are seeking employees to run the restaurant (they both have other day jobs they said) including an experienced manager and staff number 12 to 15 people to work two shifts. They plan on being open Sun - Thurs: 10am - 10pm
Fri - Sat: 10am - Late.
They project they will sell around 500 patties a day noting that well known burger chain Dick's sells around 1500 per day.
