It was another banner day at state for Abi Kim of Seattle Christian.
For the second year in a row Kim won three events in Class 1A girls action at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

Kim won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.31 seconds in this year's action that concluded Saturday, May 31 and she took first in the 200 with a 25.09 effort.

Kim also scored a field events victory, taking the long jump title at 18 feet, 04.75 inches.

The Vashon Island resident who attends the Sea-Tac school was not alone on the awards stand for the Warriors at state.

Rachelle Mayes of Kent took fifth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.39.

Seattle Christian scored a total of 34 team points for a fourth place finish.

Another standout at state from the area was Caroline Tupa of Evergreen.
Tupa took second in the state 2A shot put in action held at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma and also captured third in the discus at 117-10.

Tupa's efforts gave the Wolverines 14 state points to tie them for 14th.
Foster finished with five points for a 36th place tie in the same competition.

Sierra Parsons of the Bulldogs placed fifth in the high jump at 5-02.00 and teammate Alem Belete came in eighth in the 3,200-meter run in 11:42.70.

In the 3A girls competition that was also held at Mount Tahoma, Ariell Garnett of Kennedy Catholic captured third place in the 400 with a 57.35 points and finished fourth in the 200 in 25.28.
Danielle Carnahan of the Lancers finished in a tie for eighth place in the pole vault at 10-6.00.

JFK finished in a tie for 18th place with 11.50 points.

Jason Cowan of Kennedy scored eight team points with a second place finish in the boys 400 with a time of 49.15. The effort gave the Lancers a tie for 25th place as a team.

Evergreen wound up tied for 46th place in 2A boys action on one point scored by Marques Chacon with an eighth place finish in the 3,200 in 9:41.45.

Chacon came in just ahead of his brother Matthew, who finished in 9:46.07.
