This weekend is really going to be an exciting one, starting off with lucky Friday the 13th. Looking for something to commemorate this special day? How about a tattoo! Discover Burien shares an office building with Burien Tattoo at 427 SW 152nd St in downtown Burien. Some might think that could be an awkward arranged marriage. But, we love it. What could be an ordinary office and visitor center is transformed by the exciting and artistic energy Angel and his team at Burien Tattoo bring to the office every day.
The office is really going to be buzzing (literally and figuratively) this next Friday the 13th because of a special promotion Burien Tattoo is well known for across the region. On every Friday the 13th Burien Tattoo offers $13 tattoos. There are two sheets you can choose from for your tattoo and you do need to preorder, but the deal is phenomenal and people line up to take part. For more information you can check them out on our member directory on our website or visit their website www.burientattoo.com.
After your $13 tattoo, your good luck continues this weekend in Burien because Saturday the 14th marks the beginning of the Wild Strawberry Festival. Downtown Burien will be transformed as we gather to celebrate our community. Don’t forget to grab some famous Strawberry Shortcake from the Burien Arts booth. All proceeds from their sales go to help fund the good work that they do in our community. For more information on the Wild Strawberry Festival please visit www.burienstrawberryfestival.org.
Sunday the 15th is Father’s Day. Don’t forget to thank your Dad, and invite him to the Discover Burien Father’s Day Car Show! Now in its twelfth year, this annual event features lean mean cruzin' machines and has become a perfect date with Dad. Beautifully restored classic cars and their present-day cousins line Southwest 152nd Street in downtown Burien from 4th Ave SW to Ambaum Blvd. Also on tap are raffles, tunes from the 50's & 60's, local restaurants and shops opening their doors for food and drink and in store specials, a Chili Cook-Off, and great cars! This will surely be a fun filled day and a weekend to remember in Burien (especially if you get that tattoo).
