West Seattle lives.
The Westside Major Little League all-star age 11-12 baseball team has now won three-straight games coming through the loser's bracket of the state tournament it is hosting at the Bar-S fields, assuring itself of at least a fourth place finish.
After defeating Burlington-Edison on Monday, the team followed up with a 6-5 victory over Eastlake on Tuesday before posting a 5-3 win over Spokane South Wednesday.
West Seattle now plays Pacific in a 6 p.m. Thursday game. A win there would put the team into the loser's bracket final Friday.
Friday's winner plays for the state championship starting at 11 a.m. Saturday needing to beat winner's bracket champion Federal Way twice.
Federal Way is the only team West Seattle has lost to in the tournament, coming by an 8-4 score Sunday.
