Suspect makes off with goods for a gamer conference
On July 21 at the 8000 block of 21st Avenue Northwest offices were dispatched for a reported burglary. The victim told officers that she knew the suspect. After working away from home all weekend she arrived home where her roommate told her that she saw the suspect moving items into a black sedan from the downstairs window. The victim told officers that she had contacted the suspect and he had admitted to entering the house uninvited and had taken cash. Obviously going to a gamer conference in Belize, the suspect felt he could borrow several purses, jewelry, sunglasses, game consoles, a television, a laptop and cameras. Police searched the area but only found Donkey Kong footprints and PacMan tread.
Dukes of Hazzard take safe in 1970’s Chevrolet
July 18, officers were dispatched to a business on the 300 block of Northwest 85th Street where a burglary occurred. A neighbor had reported some suspicious activity at the house. Officers found the glass front door insert completely smash through by a 20-pound rock. Officers found cash register drawers open and store items knocked to the floor. A witness reported that she heard the business alarm go off and she saw a young man run to the passenger’s side of a 1970’s Chevrolet truck with a safe. The truck driver pinned it and the two fled. The witness then saw another individual in a dark jacket leaving the scene with something under his/her. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. SPD were unable to contact the owner of the business, so SFD her called to secure the front door.
Cat-like thief takes purse and laptop
On July 21 SPD responded to a burglary forced entrance at 1100 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest. Officers made contact with the victim who said he awoke and came downstairs to find a back window smashed and his laptop gone. Upon looking around the house, his wife noticed her purse and iPhone were gone too. The victims said they did not hear a sound the night before. Officers dusted for prints but were unable to recover any.
