Donations of clean, new or used children’s clothing (sizes Preemie/NB to 7T ONLY) are needed for a Children’s Clothing Give Away to be held Sat., June 6. Drop off times are Monday’s & Wednesday’s between 11-12:30 p.m. or Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Family Center. Stop the cell towers Rally on Alki Beach May 7

Parents of students a Alki Elementary will join 50 neighbors and community supporters in attending the “Stop Alki Cell Towers” Information Rally and Demonstration on Alki Beach, Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Rally will end with kids throwing 12 cardboard cell tower replicas into a fire pit, as a demonstration of support for an appeal to reverse approval for the towers to be built so close to their school.
6:30 p.m. Fire is started and S’Mores made for the kids.
Stop Alki Cell Towers volunteers distribute fliers with scientific research on the dangers of cell tower
radiation, tips on how to stay safer from it and the legal arguments for the community appeal to stop these 12 cell towers from going in less than 600 feet away.
7 p.m. Rally begins – Q and A
7:15 p.m. Kids line up with bamboo cell tower replicas, and one by
one throw them into the firepit.

Yoga for the 50 Plus
Senior Center of West Seattle has expanded its health & fitness options. This new yoga class for older adults meets Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. $7/Senior Center members or $10/non-members. Suitable for beginners and those with some yoga experience. Instructor Anita Thompson is a certified yoga teacher with more than 15 years of teaching experience. Class will help those 50 and older stay active and address some of the challenges of aging, such as improving balance and flexibility. Advance registration is preferred, but drop-ins welcome. Bringing a yoga mat and a large bath towel are recommended.
